Okay, so now that we are alllll up to speed, the other (kind of minor) reason that I haven't written lately is because I've been READING. Yes, BOOKS, not blogs, last weekend and this week during the evenings.
What, would drive me to reading and not posting for all of you, my dear friends?
Well, I wanted to re-read Harry Potter book 5 (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix) before starting book 6!
And I JUST finished book 5 over supper.
And did I start reading book 6 RIGHT AWAY like I'd thought I might?
Oh no, I came here, to put up a proper Friday post, like a nice dependable muggle.
Now, don't get your panties in a twist, I know that a Proper Friday post means Flowers and Not pictures of books.
So, I give you a flower that I think is worthy of the cover of book 6.
See, it is purple, like the lettering on the cover (not quite the right shade, but close enough, right?). AND the flower has lots of green around it. It even has that weird lime green center that looks like a sea anemone!
The center is even, kinda wavy, magical looking too, if you stretch your imagination a bit.
And here's where it gets a little funny. You see, I only had Tweedledum at the time, 'cause these are more flowers from my aunt and uncle's garden (recall, that it was when I got home from that trip that HB surprised me with Dee Dee). Now, Tweedledum has a flower focus button, but he is still autofocus. And the item for focus, must be fairly solid, unfortunately. Usually, I can look at a picture after I've taken it and decide whether or not the pic is blurry or not, but well, this time I couldn't tell, or didn't realize it.
So, here were my mistakes, and I'll show you what I think is neat about them.
First, trying to get a shot at an angle that would've been cool if I'd had Dee Dee. But poor Tweedledum just didn't know what to do with it.
But isn't the texture on that leaf on the left kinda neat? It is probably one of the better leaf shots I've got.
Here is another mistake.
Doesn't look like much, I know.
But wait! There's a spider web in the corner, in focus!
And if that isn't appropriate for the cover of book 6 of the Harry Potter series, then I don't know what is!
And with that, I'm more than ready to dive into book 6, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

OK. So maybe I haven't jumped on that bandwagon quite yet. You see, I have a friend that I am pretty close to and all that good stuff, but we have exact opposite tastes in everything. She liked HP, so I've always been a little unsure. She convinced me to read it once, even letting me borrow her book, but I forgot to grab it.
I'm determined to go to the library this weekend.

HA! Ladybug, it is Totally the same type of flower. It always strikes me as funny when La Pix and I do that. Sometimes I think it is because something particular bloomed that week, but this time, well, obviously both of us took our pics weeks ago. Must've been getting the good ESP vibe across the city.
Amber, if you like fantasy fiction, you are likely to really enjoy the books. I got into them because of my sister, and am SO Glad that she told me they weren't just for kids.

Great minds think alike...especially if they are related. My plan (as soon as I finish the book I started a couple weeks ago...not a super fast read) is to read book 5 and then book 6. How else am I going to remember where we last left off?

Danielle, I love the photos. I posted some photos of clematis earlier this week too. It's been a rough week... and pics of clematis help.
I'm sorry that your struggles with the chemical compound consistency and availability has caused you so much worry and that you have to work so hard to make up for it. I am pulling for you. Hopefully things will go so well that you will be able to finish prior to the move.
I feel your pain. It's stressful when you've worked so long and hard for something and been so diligent and then things outside your control throw a wrench into plans. But I guess, if you don't, and you have to come back to defend, but nothing else goes wrong, it could be worse.
I wish you the best. I hope everything works out perfectly! And if it doesn't, I hope you can float through it and keep breathing along the way.
I'll be thinking of you :)

Beautiful clematis. I also love how you tied the flowers in with the book cover. You have to tell me what you think of book 6 when you're done. You might want to e-mail me so we don't give anything away to anyone. I have some theories about what happened.

Pretty clematis! I'm an HP slacker. Never have read the first one. Sure do wish I had a camera of my own so I could play when I feel like it. ;)

I finally made my way to the library.
And checked out Harry Potter.

I re-read book 5 too and I'm glad I did. Huz and I are reading book 6 in the evenings after we pack. It's something to look forward to every day! :)

Amber, I instantly thought about going to Cold Stone Creamery to celebrate, but I appear to have come down with a stomach flu or something.
I'm on a strict diet of really bland food right now. Nothing sounds good. So I'm eating cheerios, crackers, pretzels, chicken noodle soup, eggs, toast. Applesauce is the most adventurous thing I've eaten since Saturday night. :-(

I'm going to email you later, but I just wanted to tell you that I've taken a liking to good ole HP.
I have found a new love: Paperback books. I used to like HC, but since I have to read while feeding jonah, the PB are so much easier to hold.
Now to get you to read the Abhorsen Trilogy by Garth Nix. It's good HP-like reading.
