<< Flowers for Friday... er, Saturday... purple daisies | Main | Sushi >>
This tree/bu$h was blooming over Memorial Day weekend.
This is what I saw out the kitchen window that inspired me to cut some branches off and put them in a vase so that we could enjoy them inside.
and in large
and of course, the girlie had to help out.
Yes, she is large. ;-) But her face is so pretty to us. And the fur on her chest looks so soft; it just makes you want to pet it....
.... but of course, the white areas are the venus fly-trap areas.
And one last thing, did anyone else realize tomorrow is 6/7/08 - 6, 7, 8 :-)

Is the white area a trap even for you or just strangers?
I LOVE the red leaves and pale flowers. Pruning the tree to have some flowers in the house is a great idea.

What a beautiful tree! Do you know what kind of tree it is? I really like the stark contrast of the red leaves and the white flowers.
And, of course, Girlie- girl, is also very cute!

Jenski, the white areas are a trap for EVERYone. No matter who, she attacks. As far as cutting off branches, I was thinking how if you can do it to lilacs, which are a bu$h, then I might as well do it to this tree thing.
Hi Danielle.
Texas Seestor, I don't know what kind of tree it is. But I really like it too. And I'm glad that others thing Girlie-girl is cute; we sure think so.

I can't believe I missed this post! What a pretty tree. It looks like it ornamental fruit tree of some kind, plum, cherry, something like that. I forgot that GG won't allow her white spots to be handled.. Can you get to those when she's really sleepy?

Squirl, I was wondering if you would know the type. It does have berries at one point in the year (if I remember correctly) but no fruit of any recognizable size. Of course, do ornamentals actually have fruit?
GG wakes up the minute you get close to her. And she is really funny about being petted when she has been sleeping. She'll let you pet her (black) top of her head about 3 times, and then she goes to swipe at you. I guess she is a bit grumpy when she first wakes up....

For some reason, I thought I had already commented on this post, but it doesn't seem like it.
Very beautiful flowers and colors. It is just so...can't think of a word.
